Credit Control | Dursley | Permanent - Part Time - 2 days (15 hours a week)

Salary

£30,000 for a full-time position, so this would be £12,000 for 2 days a week.

The Opportunity

This position is an integral part of the accounts team which will undertake credit control for certain customers.

The role may also help in supporting the other areas of the finance team.

Responsibilities

Credit Control responsibilities:

* Communicating with customers via telephone, letters and email to ensure payment of debt, both overdue and expected, on time.

* Checking with the insurance company and credit vetting company for limits on new and existing customer credit.

* Maintain up to date information on customer in accounting system.

* Develop and maintaining effective relationships with all customers.

* Resolve queries with Customers & issue of credits or payment of outstanding balances.

* Initial decision maker on placing customers on ‘Stop’.

* Escalating non-payment of overdue debt to solicitors (after agreement with FD)

* Weekly review report on outstanding queries to FC and FD.

Accounting Function:

* Remitting receipted payments from customers on the Ledger.

* Facilitate customer debit notes.

* Raise credit notes for customer rebates.

* Reconcile petty cash – monthly.

* Monthly timely reconciliation of sales ledger to accounting system.

* Raise Ad-Hoc invoices and credit notes.

Other tasks:

* Ad hoc reports for the finance team and other departments.

* Help with maintenance tasks.

Personal Attributes:

* Requires good telephone communication skills.

* Methodical and thorough approach to work.

* Organised and good at prioritising tasks.

* A great team player.

Skills and Knowledge

* Previous experience in credit control or similar accounting role.

* Computer Literate.

* Ideally having experience in the FMCG food or drink sector.

* Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics would be advantageous.
