Creative Arts Assistant (full-time, temporary)
Wigan
£475 - £500 per week (salary is dependent on experience and/or qualifications)
Start date: September 2026

The School and Role
We are recruiting a Creative Arts Assistant to work in a specialist SEN school in Wigan. The school supports pupils with additional learning needs, including Autism, and provides a structured, nurturing, and inclusive environment.

In this role, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to deliver creative arts activities, provide 1:1 and small-group support, and help pupils build confidence, develop skills, and engage positively with learning. This role is ideal for candidates with a creative arts background seeking hands-on experience in education or SEN settings, particularly those considering careers in teaching, SEN support, or creative arts education.

Requirements
To be considered for this Creative Arts Assistant role, you will:

Have a background or strong interest in creative arts (music, drama, visual arts, or related fields)
Have experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults (education, SEN, care, or youth work preferred)
Demonstrate a genuine interest in supporting pupils with additional learning needs, Autism, or SEMH challenges
Be patient, resilient, and confident working with children in a specialist school setting
Have strong communication skills and a positive, proactive approach
