About the home

We will be supporting 45 males (working age adults to older age adults) with a neuro degenerative condition, mental health diagnosis, acquired brain injury/traumatic brain injury, varying degrees of physical disabilities and an expectation to present with behaviours at times that may challenge the service. The service will also be registered as a care home with nursing.

About the role

As a Registered Manager you will hold responsibility for the effective operation and delivery of the service. You will manage and develop a highly skilled and motivated workforce through leadership, recruitment, selection, development and performance management processes.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Managing the day-to-day running of the services and coordinating its operations

* Train, supervise, appraise, line manage and retain all support staff for the service

* Coordinate support worker rota

* To be conversant with the Mental Health Act 1983 and awareness of Mental Capacity Act 2005 and associated Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards

* To be conversant with the main provisions of the Health and Safety at Work and the COSHH Regulations and to ensure that all staff adhere to the policies and procedures accordingly

* Regular health and safety walks to ensure the environment is suitable for all our service users

* Ensure CQC requirements are upheld at all times

* Monitor the day-to-day care of all service users in the service

* Effectively coordinate service users’ reviews

* To ensure medication is administered as prescribed and that it is reviewed at appropriate intervals by medical staff

* Facilitate and coordinate treatment plans using the care programme approach and good clinical practice within the MDT setting, ensuring effective use of resources and the updating of plans within agreed time limits

* Carry out regular medication audit at the service

* Out of hours on call (rotational basis)

About you

Experience and skillset:

* Have been a CQC registered manager for at least 2 years

* Experience in the following Mental health settings - Rehab, Low secure or Forensic

* Experience with CPA process, PBS and My Shared Pathway (MSP)

* Understanding of the Mental Health act (1983) and other relevant legislation applicable to Mental health

* Understanding of Rehabilitation and Recovery service delivery pathways is desirable

* Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care using evidence based approaches

* Ability to supervise, teach and mentor Qualified and Unqualified Staff

* Knowledge of risk assessment and risk management

* Excellent people management skills, including supervision, appraisal and conflict resolution
