Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with Special Educational Needs? Do you have experience in education, care, support work, or youth work? If so, Empowering Learning is looking for dedicated Cover Supervisors to join our team in Croydon and surrounding areas.
Job Description:
As a Cover Supervisor with Empowering Learning, you will have the opportunity to work in our SEN schools and provisions in Croydon and surrounding areas. The successful candidate will oversee classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring a stable and productive learning environment for students. This role involves supervising students, managing classroom behaviour, and ensuring the completion of pre-set work.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise students in the absence of their regular teacher, ensuring a positive and orderly learning environment.
Implement lesson plans and instructions left by the absent teacher.
Manage classroom behaviour in accordance with the school's policies.
Provide support and assistance to students with their work, ensuring they stay on task.
Report any issues or concerns regarding student behaviour or progress to the appropriate staff member.
Assist with administrative tasks as required, including preparing materials and resources.
Support the school in other supervisory duties, such as lunch and break time supervision.Requirements:
To become a SEN Teaching Assistant, you do not need formal qualifications, but experience working with children is preferred. This role is well-suited for:
Graduates considering a career in teaching.
Child and Adult DBS check is mandatory.
A genuine passion for working with students with SEN.Working Hours: Teaching Assistants are required for the full school day, typically from 8:30 am to 4 pm.
Flexible Work Options: We offer both full-time Cover Supervisor contracts with immediate starts in local schools, as well as opportunities for flexible supply work. This flexibility is ideal for those who wish to work a few days or build experience across various year groups. We provide advance notice for supply work and can accommodate morning assignments to cover absences.
