Are you confident leading a classroom and looking for an opportunity to support pupils across a secondary school setting? A welcoming school in Sheffield is looking for a reliable Cover Supervisor to join its team from September.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will take responsibility for supervising classes when their usual teacher is unavailable. You will deliver pre-prepared work, maintain a positive learning environment and ensure pupils remain focused and engaged throughout lessons. This role offers a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in education while making a real contribution to pupils' day-to-day learning.

Responsibilities:
Supervise classes and ensure pupils complete the work provided by their teachers.
Maintain a calm, orderly and positive classroom environment.
Follow lesson plans and provide clear instructions to pupils.
Support pupils with their learning and encourage good engagement.
Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's expectations.
Report any concerns or relevant feedback to teaching and pastoral staff.
Ensure pupils remain safe and focused throughout lessons.
Requirements:
Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
Strong communication and classroom management skills.
Confidence in leading a class independently.
A calm, organised and reliable approach.
Ability to follow lesson plans and provide clear instructions.
A genuine interest in supporting pupils and their education.
Experience within a school or education setting is advantageous.
To work with GSL Education as a Cover Supervisor, you should:
Have the right to work in the UK.
Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.
Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
