Accelerate Teaching is thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for an experienced Cover Supervisor to join a dynamic secondary school in Leeds starting September 2024. This role is perfect for passionate and dedicated individuals eager to make a significant impact in the education sector.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the continuity of education for students by supervising classes during the short-term absence of teachers. Your main responsibilities will include:
Supervising students in the absence of their regular teacher, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
Managing classroom behaviour and ensuring students remain on task.
Delivering pre-prepared lesson plans and ensuring students understand the work set.
Providing support and guidance to students, answering questions, and fostering a supportive classroom atmosphere.
Collaborating with teaching staff to ensure smooth and effective delivery of the curriculum.Key Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following:
Previous experience working as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar educational setting.
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A good understanding of the UK National Curriculum.
Flexibility, adaptability, and a proactive approach to work.
