Cover Supervisor

Description:

We are partnered with a Secondary school in the south of Cambridge who are looking for a Cover supervisor to join them from September 2024

The successful candidate will oversee KS3 and KS4 classes across various subjects during the short-term absence of the regular teacher. The hours will be 32.5 per week, during term time, but if you are looking for fewer hours we may be able to accommodate this. 

Occasionaily during periods where no lessons are available, Cover Supervisors must be willing to work in other roles such as; teaching assistant, working with the inclusion team or carrying out administrative work. 

This position is perfect for a confident, self-assured person who connects well with young people and can sustain a tranquil, organised, and considerate learning atmosphere. The school is a highly positive and friendly workplace, boasting stong relationships between teaching and support staff, with robust support from senior staff in upholding good order. 

The role will include;

Preparing the classroom ready for a lesson.
Delivering the pre-set work.
Marking work complete for the day and leaving a handover for the teacher to return to.
Ensuring the class stays on task and safeguarding and behaviour policies are followed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
