Protocol Education is seeking enthusiastic and confident Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Southend-on-Sea. This is an excellent opportunity to gain first-hand experience in education while developing transferable skills in leadership, communication, and behaviour management.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students remain engaged and on task with pre-planned work.

Key responsibilities include:

Supervising whole classes during teacher absences
Delivering pre-set lesson materials and instructions
Managing classroom behaviour effectively
Supporting students to remain focused and engaged
Creating a positive and productive learning environment
Building positive relationships with students and school staff

Ideal Candidate

This role would suit someone who:

Holds a degree in any subject
Is considering a career in teaching, education, or youth work
Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
Is confident managing groups of young people
Can adapt quickly to new environments
Is reliable, professional, and enthusiastic
