Cover Supervisor Overview:
We are seeking dedicated SEN cover supervisors and teachers. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment for students. Your duties will include delivering pre-prepared lesson plans, managing student behaviour, and providing support to students as needed.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the academic progress and well-being of students across various subject areas. Working collaboratively with other support staff and experienced senior leadership, you will receive ongoing support and training to enhance your professional development and advance your career.
Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor
* Delivering pre-prepared lesson plans and ensuring their smooth execution in the absence of the regular teacher.
* Managing classroom behaviour and ensuring a conducive learning environment.
* Providing support to students as needed, including one-on-one assistance, or facilitating small group activities.
* Supervising students during class to ensure they remain on task and follow school rules.
* Supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) and implementing strategies to accommodate diverse learning needs.
* Collaborating with teachers to understand and implement instructional strategies tailored to the needs of individual students.
* Building positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to foster a supportive learning community and enhance the overall educational experience.
Cover Supervisor Qualifications:
* Safeguarding training (we can support with this)
* SEND experience is desirable
* Working with secondary students is desirable.
Requirements of a Cover Supervisor:
* Right to work in the UK with no need for current or future sponsorship
* 2 professional references within the last two years
* Available FULL-TIME Monday to Friday
* Flexibility, commitment, and enthusiasm
* Previous experience working with children or young adults
* Familiarity with the education system
* Strong classroom presence and classroom management techniques
* Strong proficiency in English Language
* Overseas police check - should you have travelled 6+ months in the last 5 years
