Do you have previous experience leading a classroom? Are you confident and passionate about supporting young people in their learning?

Academics, a leading education recruitment agency based in Stoke-on-Trent, is working in partnership with a supportive secondary school in North Staffordshire to recruit a full-time Cover Supervisor for an immediate start.

This is a fantastic temp-to-perm opportunity. The successful candidate will initially work on a temporary basis, with the view of securing a permanent position within the school for the right fit.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you'll play an important role in maintaining continuity in students' learning when their usual teacher is absent.

Your responsibilities will include:

Supervising classes across a range of subjects using pre-prepared lesson materials.
Maintaining a positive, productive and inclusive learning environment.
Managing classroom behaviour confidently and effectively.
Keeping students engaged, focused and on task throughout lessons.
Supporting students with their learning where appropriate.
Providing feedback and a brief handover to teaching staff at the end of each lesson.What We're Looking For

We'd love to hear from you if you:

Have a confident, professional and positive classroom presence.
Can manage behaviour effectively and build positive relationships with young people.
Have at least two months' UK-based experience working with young people (e.g., schools, tutoring, coaching, youth work, mentoring etc)
Are reliable, adaptable and comfortable working across different subjects and year groups.
Have strong communication and organisational skills.
