Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Cover Supervisors, graduates considering a career in teaching, ECTs, or education professionals looking for flexible work within a school environment.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play an important role in maintaining a positive and productive learning environment by supervising classes in the absence of their usual teacher. You will deliver pre-prepared work, support students with their learning and maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom expectations.
The Role
Supervising classes across KS3 and KS4 in the absence of the regular teacher.
Delivering pre-prepared lessons and ensuring students remain engaged with their work.
Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
Supporting students with their learning and encouraging positive participation.
Providing feedback to teaching staff where appropriate.
Working across a range of subjects and school environments.
Maintaining a calm, professional and positive classroom atmosphere.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for candidates who have:
Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
Confidence working with secondary-aged students.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to follow lesson plans and instructions effectively.
A professional, reliable and adaptable approach.
A genuine interest in supporting students' education and development.
