As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged with pre-planned work and maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise whole classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain focused and on task.
Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions provided by teaching staff.
Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies and expectations.
Provide support and guidance to students where appropriate to facilitate learning.
Report back to teaching staff regarding lesson outcomes, student progress, and behaviour.
Promote a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
Ensure students follow school expectations and complete the work provided.
Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Confidence in managing groups of students and maintaining classroom discipline.
The ability to remain calm, organised, and adaptable in a busy school environment.
A positive and professional approach to working with young people.
A genuine interest in education and supporting students to succeed.
