Reports To: Head of Cover Department

Job Type: Flexible £95 - £115 a day enhanced DBS on update service required.

Job Summary:

The Cover Supervisor plays a vital role in maintaining continuity in the teaching and learning process. As a Cover Supervisor, you will provide classroom supervision and support to ensure that student's education remains uninterrupted when regular teaching staff are absent. You will be responsible for managing classroom behaviour, delivering pre-set lessons, and fostering a positive and conducive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Classroom Supervision: Effectively supervise and manage a classroom when regular teaching staff are absent, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.

2. Lesson Delivery: Deliver pre-prepared lessons and activities to students in a clear and engaging manner. You will be provided with lesson plans and materials.

3. Behaviour Management: Implement the school's behaviour management policies and guidelines to maintain discipline and order within the classroom. Address any disruptions or behavioural issues promptly and appropriately.

4. Student Engagement: Encourage student participation and engagement in the learning process. Foster a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere.

5. Attendance and Registration: Take attendance at the beginning of each lesson and report any discrepancies to the school office. Ensure that student registration procedures are followed.

6. Assist with Student Queries: Be available to answer students' questions and provide guidance on the assigned tasks when necessary.

7. Classroom Setup: Prepare the classroom for the lesson, ensuring that all necessary materials and equipment are readily available.

8. Health and Safety: Follow health and safety protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of students within the classroom.

9. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and any noteworthy classroom occurrences.

10. Professional Development: Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills as a Cover Supervisor.

Qualifications:

* A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent (A-levels or a degree is a plus).

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

* Confidence in managing classroom behaviour and maintaining discipline.

* Patience, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced educational environment.

* A genuine interest in education and a commitment to promoting student learning.
