Cover Manager - Secondary School
Location: Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire
Pay: £140-£180 per day
Working pattern: Term time only
TimePlan Education is recruiting an organised and confident Cover Manager for an inclusive, mixed secondary school in Hemel Hempstead.

The role
You will coordinate daily cover arrangements to ensure lessons run smoothly during staff absences. You will also be required to cover classes where needed, supervising pupils as they complete work set by their teachers.
Key responsibilities:
Coordinate cover for planned and unexpected staff absences.
Allocate cover staff and communicate arrangements clearly.
Liaise with supply agencies to secure suitable staff.
Cover lessons across a range of subjects, keeping pupils engaged and on task.
Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
Maintain accurate records of staff absence and cover arrangements.
Work closely with teaching staff and senior leaders to support the smooth running of the school.
We are looking for someone with:
Experience working in a secondary school, ideally as a Cover Manager or an experienced Cover Supervisor.
Confidence supervising classes and managing behaviour.
Excellent organisation, communication and time-management skills.
A calm, flexible approach to changing priorities.
Strong IT skills, with knowledge of school management systems an advantage.
A commitment to safeguarding and supporting young people.
This opportunity would suit an established Cover Manager or an experienced Cover Supervisor ready to take on additional responsibility.
