Position: Costing Technician
Location: Hatfield / Remote, (Initial Office-Based Training Required)
Proactive Global is seeking a motivated Costing Technician to join a leading electronics manufacturing company.
The successful candidate will work closely with Sales, Technical Services, and Purchasing teams to prepare accurate and competitive quotations for customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Review customer RFQs and documentation to accurately identify technical requirements and specifications for quotation preparation.
Interpret engineering drawings, Bills of Materials and component data, with a strong understanding of electrical components.
Liaise with suppliers and the Purchasing Department to obtain pricing and lead times, ensuring quotations are accurate and comprehensive.
Use ERP systems and specialised quoting software to prepare and record quotations efficiently.
Maintain awareness of costing calculations (e.g., margins, waste) to ensure alignment with sales targets.
Pay close attention to detail to ensure all costings, documentation, and quotations are accurate.
Manage workload effectively to meet deadlines and support team objectives.
Candidate Profile / Skills Required:
Strong IT skills
Good knowledge of electrical components and technical documentation.
Highly organised with excellent time management and attention to detail.
Commercially aware and able to calculate accurate costs and margins.
Self-motivated, proactive, and willing to learn.
Strong communicator and team player.
