Contract role inside IR35*
*6 month minimum duration*
*MEICA experience*
*Water or Civil background*
*100% remote working with occasional site visits*

Cost Planning:
• Lead cost planning process, preparing analytical cost and commercial plans and have accountability for identifying opportunities and risks, and maintaining key assumptions and cost data base.
• Collaborate with register stakeholders to agree on methodologies and principles.
• Provide pricing support for business development.
• Gather feedback from internal teams on cost plan adequacy.
• Present cost plan basis and key assumptions at adjudication meetings and facilitate handover to site teams.

Cost Management and Budget Control:
• Carry out monthly cost management CVR including CTC forecasting updates, monitor commercial performance and strategy, and control project budgets, along with the project team, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and financial targets.
• Conduct comprehensive cost analysis, identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing measures to optimise project expenditure.
• Collaborate with project teams to forecast and manage project costs effectively, mitigating risks and maintaining profitability.
• Ensure robust reporting, accurate and timely cost and value reporting at both project and business unit level ensure accurate cash flow reporting takes place.

Contract Administration and Negotiation:
• Assist in negotiating contracts and agreements with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, ensuring favourable terms and conditions that align with business objectives.
• Provide expert advice on contractual matters, including variations, claims, and disputes resolution, to safeguard the companys interests and minimize financial risks.
• Ensure compliance with contract terms, specifications, and regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate records and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Technical
Familiarity with Development Agreements / NEC forms of contract and knowledge of current Construction Law
Extensive experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors, including chairing regular meetings, measurement and control cycle, certificates and accruals calculations.
Ability to demonstrate a good knowledge of monthly reporting and earned value analysis.
Previous commercial background experience in water and civils engineering industry
Numerate and IT literate, familiar with estimating software and Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel
Confidence in dealing with customers and personnel at a senior level.
Ability to ensure all cost plans are both feasible and profitable.
Qualifications:
• Full Driving Licence.
• Graduate calibre, in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent
Member of RICS or other relevant professional body, and background in the water sector
