The Client:

Our client is a leading Automotive company based in Tyneside.

They offer a turnkey solution on precision engineered components from Design through to Pressings, Fabrication, Painting & Assembly. The trading business has been established for over 50 years and part of a larger Corporation.

This Corporation is a privately owned and personally financed group of companies which has nine industrial manufacturing and distribution businesses supplying and servicing customers in the UK and Europe.

The Group is well capitalised and has a strong balance sheet. There is no debt or external financing and no reliance on banks and all acquisitions are funded by cash resources.

The Opportunity:

As Cost Accountant, you will support the business across the contribution reporting and product costing and be able to offer solutions to typical challenges in Manufacturing.

Some of the key responsibilities for this successful person would be but no limited to:

* Comfortable communicating with stakeholders and provide solutions in partnership with the Director of Finance and finance team

* Update and analysing standard product costs and recommending changes

* Reviewing contribution dashboards by product, customer and region

* Generating and analysing material and labour variances including usage and price variances, PPV

* Producing product costing data to support commercial decision-making

* Reconciling of stock and overseeing stock counting procedures

* Produce slow / obsolete moving stock report and provide accordingly in financial statements

* Reconciling sales and accrued income reports to ensure correct P&L and balance sheet postings

* Produce and monitor Sales and Order intake budgets and forecast

* Ownership of rebate and commission process, ensuring accruing and paying of customer rebates on time

* Develop reporting of Stock, Sales, Margins Commissions & Rebates

The Candidate:

The successful Cost Accountant will be/have:

* Part or Qualified Accountant - (ACCA/CIMA)

* Or a Qualified by Experience (QBE) Accountant with experience is also a consideration

* Great if you have relevant cost accounting experience, however we will also consider the right management accountant who is willing to learn cost accounting in a Manufacturer

* Proven management accounting is essential

* Financial and reporting analysis skills are important

* Be creative in approach to improving systems and resolving problems

* Capable of working to timescales to meet deadlines

* Strong IT skills, adept at manipulating and analysing data

* Excellent communication skills written and verbally

* High standard of numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail.
