Description:

Berry Recruitment are NOW hiring for a committed and experienced Cost Accountant to work for a manufacturing organisation based in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. This role will involve working with the Commercial Team to support information, reconciliations, and costings to the business.

To work closely with key stakeholders to review product manufacturing costs, create standardised product costings, evaluate product profitability, and seek cost efficiency to improve margins / profitability.

Role: Cost Accountant - 1 Year Fixed Term Contract

Salary: £45,000 and £55,000 (depending on experience)

Location: Abingdon, Oxfordshire

Hours: 37 hours per week

Purpose of the Cost Accountant role.

To manage expenditure and look for cost-efficient solutions to inefficiency problems. Work with our cost accounting system and develop expense, budget, and supply chain reports for management. To also forecast cost-related changes and risks.

Key Responsibilities of the Cost Accountant:

Manage and control of manufacturing product cost models.
Produce and improve costings/ bill of materials and product pricing including liaising with manufacturing and sales team to provide knowledge and analysis on manufacturing costs.
Implement weekly production reports.
Implement production variance reporting.
Margin analysis of both manufactured and bought in products.
Stock valuation and review of obsolescence.
Work closely alongside R&D, Sales, Operations and Product Management team to manage business profitability both in current and new products.
Ownership of the inventory process end to end, including the annual cost roll process
Reconciliations required for stock and products at customers/suppliers.
Balance Sheet reconciliations
Support Purchase and Sales Ledger
Adhoc Finance projectsAbout you:

Must have experience as a Cost Accountant or Management Accountant or Operational Accountant within a manufacturing environment.
Thorough knowledge of standard costing, inventory management and the manufacturing process
Professional qualification such as CIMA/ACCA
Must have proven experience working with SAP S4 HANA
Proven experience with Business Intelligence (BI) tools highly desirable
Advanced excel skills and the ability to perform high level data analysis and data modelling.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and challenge effectively with cross functional teams and non-finance personnel.
Comfortable in a changing and developing environment.
