Cost Accountant
Burnley
Up to 50k – full or part time working available
Our client, a well known manufacturer in Burnley is looking for an experienced Cost Accountant to join them on a permanent basis. This role requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail in order to review costs accurately and quickly. The successful applicant will be employed on a full or part time basis and report to the Financial Controller. The experienced Cost Accountant will be responsible for ensuring that cost accounting and control reports are prepared and distributed accurately and timely. This role will suit someone part /qualified or qualified by experience.
Primary Duties:
• Prepare or oversee preparation of monthly reconciliation for all assigned balance sheet accounts.
• Manage assigned general accounting functions and supports accounting team where and when necessary.
• Recommend and drive continuous improvement of accounting processes.
• Analyse accounting options to support decision-making efforts.
• Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information.
• Participate in ad-hoc requests and project analysis as needed to drive efficiencies for the business or function.
• Validate cost of goods sold as part of the monthly close process.
• This position will be responsible for supporting cost accounting activities, including the management, and updating of standard costs within the company and item integrity.
• Report on gross margins by customer, product or class.
• Assist with the development of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for Cost of Materials accounts.
• Compile and review monthly spending trends with operations management team.
