Description:
We are Zenith are partnering with a leading high-volume manufacturer to recruit an Automation Maintenance Technician.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled maintenance professional to join a highly automated production environment, playing a key role in maximising equipment reliability, supporting production performance, and driving continuous improvement across the site.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and resolve electrical, automation, and control system faults to minimise production downtime.
* Deliver both planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance activities across a range of automated manufacturing equipment.
* Work with PLCs, HMIs, robotics,
* Assist with the commissioning, installation, and integration of new machinery and automation projects.
* Monitor equipment performance, identifying trends and implementing improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
* Take ownership of maintenance activities, ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and to agreed timescales.
* Support root cause investigations and implement robust corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, equipment uptime, quality, and waste reduction.
* Maintain accurate maintenance documentation, spare parts records, and technical reports.
* Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and wider site teams to achieve operational objectives.
Essential Requirements
* HNC in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
* Time-served electrical apprenticeship.
* Strong experience working with robotics.
* Strong PLC and HMI experience, particularly Siemens TIA, programming capability.
* Vision Technology Exposure.
* Strong background in data usage, monitoring, and control.
* Certified training in HMI and PLC systems.
* Able to work on own initiative and liaise effectively with functions and departments at all levels of the company.
* Computer Literate in Word, Outlook, Excel
* Open, honest, and effective communicator.
* Committed to continuous improvement with a strong safety mindset.
* Organised and methodical, with a results-driven approach.
* Flexible, with sound decision-making and problem-solving skills.
