Description:

Are you the type of person who’d rather do something right the first time?

If you are and you’re an experienced Control System Engineer, I might have something that’s right up your street…

The company I’m working with aren’t just looking for you to be the right technical fit. They want someone with the right mindset too. Someone who just gets it.

You don’t need to be a know it all. In fact, quite the opposite.

They want someone who isn’t afraid to ask questions, pull a project apart, ask more questions and then think logically about how to deliver it properly the first time.

You’ll be joining a growing team with a really strong support network, both technically and culturally. And because it’s a smaller business, you’ll also have the backing of the directors who were once in your shoes so genuinely understand how it all works.

You’ll be given full responsibility for your own projects, from the first meeting with the customer, through to specification, programming, commissioning and handover.

You’ll effectively become the face of the project and be trusted to see it through without being micromanaged. All from the comfort of your own home.

Most of the work is within logistics and airport environments, so if you’ve got hands on experience with tracking systems, conveyors or baggage/material handling, great.

But industry isn’t necessarily a blocker here.

They’ve already had two engineers come from different but similar backgrounds who have absolutely thrived so if you’re good at what you do, technically strong and can think logically about how things work, they’re open to looking at where your experience has come from.

The engineering work here is both demanding and rewarding. You’ll be working in Siemens TIA Portal and expected to build software from scratch. No libraries or off the shelf stuff here.

There’s HMI work involved too, along with documentation, site commissioning and client support after installation.

You’ll be working from home around 70% of the time, with the rest spent on site across the UK.

Genuinely, it’s just a bunch of people doing interesting work, treating each other like adults and supporting one another when needed.

Flexibility and balance are a big part of the culture here too so if you’ve had to stay late on site one day, you won’t be hassled for logging on at 9.01 the next.

Salary is £55–65k depending on your experience, with the higher end for someone confident running full project lifecycles. There’s also private medical insurance, flexible hours, a home setup when you’re not commissioning and half day Fridays when working from home.

If this sounds like something you’d like to explore further, drop me a message or give me a call.

Happy to chat through it in more detail and answer any questions you’ve got.

One final thing, due to the size of the company, they’re not currently in a position to support sponsorship
