Contracts Manager – Groundworks & Civil Engineering

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Contracts Manager to join a well-established groundworks and civil engineering contractor delivering infrastructure packages for leading housebuilders across the North West.

Due to continued growth, the business is looking to appoint a third Contracts Manager to oversee a number of established site teams and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

This is a hands-on management role suited to someone with a strong background in residential groundworks who enjoys leading teams, maintaining client relationships, and driving operational performance.

The Role

* Oversee approximately 10–11 two-man site teams operating across multiple live projects.

* Manage groundworks and civil engineering packages for national and regional housebuilders.

* Plan, programme and coordinate works to ensure projects are delivered on time.

* Lead and motivate site teams, ensuring productivity and quality standards are maintained.

* Carry out regular site visits across Lancashire and the wider North West.

* Liaise with clients, site managers and commercial teams.

* Ensure all works comply with health and safety legislation.

* Monitor labour, plant and materials to maximise efficiency.

* Resolve operational issues and provide technical support where required.

Requirements

* Previous experience as a Contracts Manager within groundworks and civil engineering.

* Strong residential groundworks experience working for housebuilders.

* Proven ability to manage multiple live projects simultaneously.

* Excellent leadership and team management skills.

* Strong planning, organisational and communication abilities.

* Good understanding of health and safety requirements.

* Full UK driving licence.
