The Opportunity
We are recruiting an experienced Contracts Manager with a strong background in flat and pitched roofing on behalf of an established specialist roofing and building-envelope contractor.
Operating across commercial, industrial, education, leisure, retail and public sector projects, our client works with leading main contractors to deliver high-quality roofing and envelope packages. Following continued growth and the award of new projects, they are looking to appoint a Contracts Manager to support the next phase of the business.
This is a senior role offering responsibility for the successful delivery and commercial management of multiple roofing contracts, typically valued between £1m and £5m. The successful candidate will oversee projects from pre-construction and procurement through to installation, commercial close-out and final handover.
Key Responsibilities

Manage the delivery of roofing and building-envelope contracts from pre-construction through to completion.
*
Oversee flat and pitched roofing projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.
*
Take commercial ownership of contracts, including cost control, valuations, variations and financial performance.
*
Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, labour, materials, plant, craneage and deliveries to meet programme requirements.
*
Build and maintain strong working relationships with main contractors, clients and project stakeholders.
*
Ensure all works comply with drawings, specifications, Method Statements, Risk Assessments and relevant health and safety requirements.
*
Monitor installation quality and ensure completed works meet the required standards.
*
Attend client and main contractor meetings, providing regular updates on programme, progress and commercial matters.
*
Prepare, review and update RAMS where required, and deliver regular Toolbox Talks to site teams and subcontractors.
*
Identify and resolve operational issues, managing project risks and ensuring contractual obligations are met.
Requirements
*
Previous experience as a Contracts Manager within roofing, construction or building-envelope projects.
*
Strong experience with flat and pitched roofing systems is essential.
*
Proven ability to manage commercial construction contracts, ideally valued between £1m and £5m.
*
Experience working with main contractors on commercial, industrial or public sector projects.
*
Strong commercial awareness, including cost control, variations, procurement and contract delivery.
*
Excellent organisational, communication and client relationship management skills.
*
Good understanding of construction health and safety, RAMS and quality assurance.
*
Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate site teams and subcontractors effectively.
