Overview:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Contracts Manager to join a major infrastructure delivery team working across a long-term water industry framework in the North West.
The Contracts Manager will take responsibility for the commercial and operational delivery of civil engineering and water infrastructure projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, to programme and to the required quality standards. The role will involve leadership of project teams, commercial management, subcontractors, resources, design, risk and client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the successful delivery of water and civil engineering projects from pre-start through to completion.
* Ensure projects are properly planned, programmed and resourced to support efficient delivery.
* Monitor project costs, forecasts and commercial performance, identifying risks, opportunities and efficiencies.
* Manage CVRs, cost plans, commercial plans and end-of-life forecasts.
* Manage subcontractor performance and ensure contractual and company requirements are met.
* Oversee project risks, opportunities, design requirements and resource planning.
* Provide leadership, mentoring and performance management across project teams.
* Maintain high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality performance.
* Ensure compliance with relevant client, company and legal requirements, including CDM, HAUC, NRSWA and Chapter 8 where applicable.
* Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, chairing meetings and providing clear progress updates.
Qualifications:
* Extensive Contracts Management experience within a civil engineering and/or water environment.
* Experience delivering projects within a framework environment, ideally within the UK water sector.
* HNC, HND or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
* Strong knowledge of NEC contracts, including Early Warning and Compensation Event mechanisms.
* Good understanding of commercial management, cost control, forecasting, programme, risk and design management.
* Experience using Microsoft Project; P6 experience would be advantageous.
* SMSTS and CSCS required.
* Strong leadership, communication, people management and problem-solving skills. CEng/MICE and/or NEBOSH Construction Certificate would be advantageous.
