Contracts Manager – Retail Supermarkets
Location: South Wales & South West
Salary: £80,000–£100,000 per annum (Permanent)
Freelance Rate: £375 per day
The Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee a portfolio of retail supermarket projects across South Wales and the South West.
Working on an established supermarket account, the role will involve managing a variety of projects, including store refits, new-build developments and extensions. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Contracts Manager with a strong retail construction background to join a busy contractor with a consistent pipeline of work.
Both permanent and freelance opportunities are available.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee multiple supermarket projects across South Wales and the South West.
*
Manage projects including full store refits, extensions and new-build developments.
*
Lead and support Site Managers, subcontractors and wider project teams.
*
Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
*
Manage project programmes, budgets, resources and commercial performance.
*
Maintain strong relationships with the client and key stakeholders.
*
Monitor health and safety, quality control and compliance across all sites.
*
Identify and manage project risks, variations and delays.
*
Attend site visits and client meetings throughout the region.
*
Oversee project handovers and ensure works are completed to client expectations.
Requirements
*
Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within retail construction, supermarket fit-outs or refurbishment.
*
Experience delivering supermarket refits, extensions and/or new-build projects.
*
Strong leadership skills with experience managing multiple sites and Site Managers.
*
Good commercial awareness and the ability to manage project budgets and programmes.
*
Excellent client-facing and organisational skills.
*
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout South Wales and the South West.
Package
*
Permanent: £80,000–£100,000 per annum, depending on experience.
*
Freelance: £375 per day.
*
Ongoing pipeline of work on an established supermarket account.
*
Varied projects across South Wales and the South West.
