Our client is looking for a Contracts Manager for a permanent position, located in Aberdeen (Hybrid Working)

ROLE

You will lead to develop and implement C&P plans / strategies which enable CPEL to optimise contract spend (circa £1.25-1.5 billion per annum) / contract mix, maximise leverage in the market and deliver maximum value to the Business. Proactively managing supply chain markets risks meeting the company expectations, whist interfacing with the Corporate Supply Chain Management team in HQ to secure C&P plans, strategy, and RTA approvals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and contribute to the successful execution of contracting strategies, in support of all UK activities and manage the department’s activities effectively to achieve business KPI’s, Key Results and budget targets.
Lead to develop and implement annual C&P plans which suits CI SCM guideline and enable CPEL to deliver the business goals and priorities in the three assets.
Manage the Contracts team’s activities, ensuring a high quality of service is provided, that activities are completed to the highest professional and integrity standards and in accordance with CPEL`s contracting procedures and processes, whilst ensuring all decisions/commitments are recorded in an auditable manner.
In conjunction with department managers/representatives, manage the performance of key contractors and suppliers, developing highly positive and constructive relationships with key contacts, internally and externally, proactively manage supply chain risks.
Provide expertise, advice and coaching to the Contracts Team and Company personnel on contract strategies and complex/non-routine situations, develop contracts staff and succession plan
Provide coaching on contractual matters to key internal stakeholders to ensure that they understand and discharge effectively their roles and responsibilities in the contracting and procurement process.
Represent the Company at meetings with joint venture partners, industry forums and government bodies e.g., OEUK, NSTA, NZTC.
Monitor strategic developments in Contracting and introduce new thinking and practice as appropriate
Liaise with HQ SCM on regular basis, to gain the best benefits in term of the C&P plan, Project Procurement Strategies and Recommendation for Awards and in the development of global initiatives.
Focal point for Corporate and partners audits, compliance audit, performance audits
REQUIREMENTS

Highly experienced with high value contracting processes/contract development, with demonstrable success within the energy industry.
Understanding of the oil and gas industry supply chain market and it’s contracting principles and practices.
Proven experience of effectively managing Contracts teams.
Proven understanding of joint venture operations and the impact contractual commitments have on joint venture partners.
Proven capability to successfully negotiate, implement and manage high value contract/framework agreements/claims.
Ability to perform effectively under pressure.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities driven by business needs, and lead to process reengineering and improvement.
Ability to interact with and influence at a senior level, internally and externally.
Assertiveness/Ability to articulate clearly.
Numerate, analytical and logical.
Effective relationship-builder at all levels, internally and externally, excellent influencing skills.
Ability to work effectively in a diverse cultural environment.
Excellent networks with other Operators and industry bodies.
As a minimum, you will have:

A Degree in an appropriate subject; Business, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Logistics as examples.
Strong leadership capability, experience of leading teams across multiple disciplines, and the ability to understand and interact effectively with diverse groups and operations.
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure and deliver timely results, coupled with personal drive and self-starting initiative and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment without compromising integrity
