The opportunity
Due to an increasing portfolio of projects, they are currently searching for a Contracts and Procurement manager to join their expanding team and assist both management and other colleagues in ensuring the company gets value for money through their procurement channels.
Your duties and responsibilities will be
* Day to day you will work closely with the Commercial Director to develop and deliver our Commercial function. The team is centralised, strategic and facilitates best practice procurement and contract management throughout the business.
* Defining robust procurement strategies aligned to the bid/project requirements.
* Negotiate and draft subcontract agreements.
* Ensure procurement early involvement for bids and tendering activities.
* Participate in project kick off meetings to ensure procurement requirements are met as soon as possible.
* Increase efficiency for procurement processes.
* Working with other managers to update company policies where change is required on a company-wide basis.
* Management of direct reports to meet company objectives.
* Perform procurement functions e.g. purchasing of supplies and services.
* Generation and production of monthly reports for Commercial Director.
* Management of Approved Suppliers List.
* Participate in Audits as appropriate – both internal and external.
* Developing and improving “best practice” guidelines for projects and their procurement.
* Provide advice and guidance for project management teams through complex procurement processes.
* Identify high value orders for the attention of the Commercial Director.
You will have the following qualifications & experience
* A degree within a relevant sector – engineering, quantity surveying, business, or finance.
* Experience working with multi-disciplinary engineering teams in a bid and project management environment.
* Experience of grafting Engineering Forms of Contract (NEC, ICHEME etc.).
* Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mind set.
* Eligible to live and work in the UK.
* Full UK/EEC Driving License.
It’s great if you also have the following
* Membership of the Chartered Insititute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS).
* Proven strategic procurement experience.
* Managing strict deadlines, prioritising, and planning workload.
* Excellent attention to detail.
