Contract Database Analyst

Spectrum IT's Guildford based client are actively seeking a Contract Database Analyst to join them on an initial 8 week contract. This is an OUTSIDE IR35 role with remote working and occasional office visits to Guildford, Surrey.

As the Contract Database Analyst you will play a key role in the supporting, testing and maintaining business system reports. You will have excellent experience with SQL Server and creating SQL insert/select/update statements with large databases. Experience with Visual Studio 2017+ and Crystal reports will be key.

Responsibilities

Support users both directly and via the Service Desk in relation to various business systems. Liaise with IT colleagues and/or third-party suppliers in order to resolve technical issues.
Support, test, and maintain business system reports, making the best use of available technology to fully exploit each application.
Design and support system/data integration and import/export routines between systems (on premise and cloud-based).
Promote and sustain a constructive, supportive and friendly working relationship with all customers, external and internal, immediate and senior management and other work colleagues.
Work on Business Change Projects and internal IT projects, liaising with the Business Systems Developers and where applicable other departments in the production of functional specifications.
Producing Technical Specifications.

Ensure data accuracy and consistency between systems including but not limited to: checking data validation routines are in place both on data input and ongoing checks, ensuring data duplication routines are in place across systems and creating data cleansing routines are in place where required
Provide an audit of data issues and resolutions
Data Migration
Create ad-hoc data migration scripts
Maintain Scribe data integrations to migrate data from one system to another
Systems Integration
Create ad-hoc Integration scripts
Maintain Scribe data integrations to migrate data from one system to another
Experience / Skills

Experience in relational database architecture and design
Proficient in SQL - able to write complex select/insert/update scripts
Crystal reports or Microsoft Reporting Services
Proficient Microsoft applications user
SQL Server - able to create SQL insert/select/update statements with large databases
Experience with Ellucian Banner ERP and reports HIGHLY DESIRABLE
Visual Studio 2017+
Crystal reports
Knowledge of BASIC programming syntaxes, (eg. VBA, JavaScript beneficial)
Business Processing mapping experience beneficial
Experience writing Mark-up Language code from a BASIC language (HTML from JavaScript, PDF from VBA)
Ability to manage personal and team workloads effectively
