Contract Consultant - Royal Mail Peak Season
Location: Cardiff Outhouse Mail Centre (on-site)
Contract: Fixed Term for the duration of 2026
Hours: 40 hours per week, flexible rota, Monday to Sunday
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum (pro rata)
About the Role
Pertemps is looking for a proactive and organised Contract Consultant to support our Royal Mail operation at Cardiff Outhouse Mail Centre during the busy peak season.
This fast-paced role combines recruitment, workforce planning and onsite worker query management to ensure staffing requirements are met and a positive experience is delivered to both our client and temporary workforce.
Key Responsibilities
Advertising vacancies and attracting suitable candidates.
Screening and selecting candidates in line with client and legal requirements.
Managing candidate onboarding, including registrations, inductions and compliance checks, ensuring all candidates meet legal, compliance and contractual requirements, including Right to Work verification.
Allocating shifts and managing workforce schedules to meet operational demands, proactively planning staffing levels while responding effectively to changing business needs and last-minute requirements.
Monitoring attendance, absence and worker performance.
Building strong relationships with Royal Mail managers and temporary workers.
Providing onsite support and resolving workforce issues effectively, escalating worker queries as needed.
Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with Pertemps and client procedures.
Role Requirements
Previous recruitment or workforce planning experience is required
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to compliance.
Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends.
