Role: Contract Banner Developer
Term: 11 Months
Rate: £660 a day
IR35: Outside IR35
Location: Fully Remote

Our Hampshire based client is seeking a Banner End-of-Life & Obsolete Functionalities Specialist. In this position, you will play a crucial role in optimising their systems by identifying and removing obsolete functionalities within the Banner platform. This is a project-based role with clearly defined phases, offering the opportunity to delve deep into specific tasks.

Responsibilities:

Project 1
Evaluate 43 proposed "Obsolete" functionalities for dependencies on existing systems.
Remove functionalities deemed truly obsolete.
Conduct unit testing and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for existing functionalities potentially impacted by the removal process.
Project 2
Review potential obsolete functionalities and assess their impact on other systems.
Remove functionalities confirmed as obsolete.
Continue unit testing and support UAT for existing functionalities.
Project 3
Identify functionalities reaching End-of-Life (EOL) and confirm viable replacements within the Ellucian baseline.
Support the creation of a gap analysis to identify any missing functionalities.
Configure new functionalities.
Conduct unit testing for new functionalities.
Assist with user testing and deployment of new functionalities.Throughout all projects, you will work closely with the project manager and development lead to ensure successful completion of each work package.

Qualifications:

Proven experience working with Ellucian Banner products.
Familiarity with Tomcat Servers and Oracle Database applications, including PL/SQL.
Strong understanding of Java and JavaScript programming languages.
Experience with scripting languages like Linux.
Expertise in collaborative work practices, including agile methodologies, task tracking, requirements refinement, version control, code reviews, and pair programming.
Experience across the full software development lifecycle, including analysing and refining requirements, proposing solutions, estimating effort, development, deployment, ongoing maintenance, and operational support.If suitable, please apply or contact Natasha on for more information.
