The Role:

The Continuous Improvement Leader will be a central figure in enabling strategic growth through change and improvement across all areas of our business. The leader will play a pivotal role in aligning our strategic goals with our day-to-day operations and will work closely with all members of the leadership team and especially the COO, to implement technical and operational and performance improvements.

What will you be doing?

* Development of an integrated plan which translates the strategic objectives of the business into tangible and specific actions which are to be deployed throughout the business.

* Lead an integrated improvement program which delivers significant improvements in delivery performance in its broadest sense, labour efficiency, product quality and working capital. This will be achieved through a series of initiatives which will include, but not limited to, the following:

* The deployment of Lean principles throughout the organization.

* The deployment and use of the tools typically found within the Lean Toolbox such as 5S, Standard work, SQDCP, 8D problem solving, SPC, single piece flow etc.

* The facilitation of Kaizen events and other forms of improvement workshops

* The coaching and training of potentially all employees within the business and including senior leadership.

* The management and coordination of all activities within the improvement program.

* The facilitation of appropriate KPIs and reports recognizing that ownership of KPIs lies with line management and that the reporting task is largely administrative. IT enablement will be provided to minimise time spent on this activity.

What will you bring to the party?

* Degree qualified or equivalent and in a relevant engineering or related subject

* Have a background or grounding in engineering, manufacturing or other relevant function

* Lean Six Sigma – Black Belt

* Experience beyond the early career years in a form of supervisory role in at least one of the following functions:

* Manufacturing engineering

* Quality

* First line factory management

* Finance or planning and scheduling as a means of acquiring a solid working knowledge of MRP and associated business systems
