We are working with a SEMH secondary school in Leyton that is looking for an enthusiastic and practical Construction Teacher to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working hands-on with young people and wants to help students develop valuable practical and employability skills.
The Role:
As a Construction Teacher, you will:
Plan and deliver engaging, practical Construction lessons to secondary-aged students
Teach both practical skills and construction theory
Support students in developing their confidence and understanding of the construction industry
Demonstrate the safe and correct use of tools, materials and equipment
Maintain a safe, well-organised and positive workshop environment
Adapt lessons to meet different abilities and learning needs
Encourage positive behaviour, teamwork and employability skills
Work alongside teaching and support staff to help students achieve their potentialThe Ideal Candidate:
We are keen to hear from candidates who have:
QTS, teaching experience or strong professional construction/trade experience
Experience teaching Construction, vocational subjects or practical skills is desirable
A strong understanding of health and safety within practical/workshop environments
Good classroom and behaviour management skills
The ability to engage and motivate students through hands-on learning
A calm, patient and supportive approach
Good communication and organisational skills
