CONSTRUCTION SOLICITOR
BIRMINGHAM
£60K - £70K + Package

Our client is a distinguished private developer based in Birmingham specialising in the residential sector. With a track record of delivering exceptional projects, they are committed to excellence and innovation in every aspect of their work. They are currently seeking a skilled and experienced In-House Conveyance/Construction Solicitor to join their dynamic team.

The In-House Conveyance / Construction Solicitor will play a pivotal role in developing and shaping the legal department, with a key focus on the conveyance and process of a substantial number of yearly sales, whilst overseeing a diverse range of construction, planning, and building legal matters (outsourced where required). Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Senior Management Team across their group of companies, this position requires a strong understanding of property law, as well as the ability to process volume house sales with confidence and efficiency. The successful candidate will also be involved general construction and planning legals.

As the Construction Solicitor your responsibilities include but not limited to:

Support on construction-related matters, including contracts and regulatory compliance.
Review, amend, and negotiate a wide range of construction agreements, including contracts with contractors, subcontractors, and consultants.
Assist with 106 matters.
Manage legal aspects of building projects from inception to completion, including risk management.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Project Managers, Architects, and Engineers, to ensure legal requirements are met throughout the project lifecycle.
Stay informed about changes in construction law and industry best practices, providing proactive guidance to the organisation.
Handle conveyancing matters related to property transactions, including drafting, and reviewing contracts, conducting title searches, and facilitating closings.
Represent the organisation in negotiations.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to construction and property matters.

As the Construction Solicitor you will have:

Bachelor's degree in law (LLB) or equivalent; additional qualifications in construction law preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of experience practising law, with a focus on construction and property law.
Proven track record of successfully managing construction-related legal matters from inception to resolution.
A sound working understanding of section 278, section 38 and section 106 agreements.
Wayleave agreements - utilities
Must have worked on JCT contracts.
Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement methods, and project delivery systems.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in legal research and drafting.
