Are you experienced in managing construction projects and looking for a new challenge? We have an amazing opportunity within a dynamic and growing Architectural practice.
We are seeking a Project Manager to join a dedicated and professional team on a full time, permanent basis. The practice is based in the Cambridge area but the successful candidate will also travel to sites throughout the UK.
The salary is highly competitive, between £35,000 - £60,000, dependent on experience with great long-term career opportunities. There is also a bonus and benefits available. The main duties include;
* Discuss the ideas, objectives, requirements and budget of a project and in some cases help to select a site
* Asses the needs of the building and its users, advising the client on the practicality of their project;
* Manage the preparation and presentation of feasibility reports, local environment impact and design proposals to the client;
* Manage the use of IT in design and project management, specifically the use of computer-aided design software;
* Keep within financial budgets and deadlines;
* Manage the teams detailed workings, drawings and specification;
* Specify the nature and quality of materials required;
* Manage the preparation of tender applications and presentations;
* Negotiate with contractors and other professionals;
* Manage the preparation of applications for planning and building control departments;
* Manage the drawing up of tender documents for contracts;
* Project-manage and help to coordinate the work of contractors;
* Control a project from start to finish;
* Carry out regular site visits to check on progress and ensure that the project is running on time and to budget;
* Resolve problems and issues that arise during construction
* Ensure resource availability
* Ensure the HSE risk assessments have been carried out

The successful candidate will have;
- Relevant construction project management experience
- Ideally CIOB / RICS but not essential
- Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with people of all levels
- Willingness to travel around the UK
- Ability to work well within a team
