Senior Construction Materials Technician - Laboratory Based

Location Northampton

Contract Permanent

Salary £28,500 - £30,500

Working Hours Monday to Friday 40 hours

Important Eligibility Notice

Please note that due to the technical requirements of this position, we are only abnle to consider candidates with direct experience of construction materials testing or geotechnical testing.

Additionally, we cannot accept applications from individuals currently in the UK on a Post-Study Work (PSW) Visa or from those who require visa sponsorship, as sponsorship is not available for this role.

The Role

Our client is a leading European provider of analytical testing services across air, water, soils, aggregates, bituminous and cementitious construction materials. They are now seeking an experienced Senior Construction Materials Technician or Geotechnical Technician to work within their new laboratory based in Northampton. You will be responsible for testing soils, aggregates and asphalts, supporting a wide range of construction and civil engineering projects. You will be working alongside other technicians, experienced and non experieced and also supporting the field based team.

Key Responsibilities

Perform laboratory testing on soils, aggregates, asphalts and other construction materials in line with industry standards
Ensure all testing is completed accurately, efficiently and within required timeframes and to required quality standards
Maintain high levels of quality control and adhere to strict laboratory procedures
Record, analyse and report test results with precision
Support in-experienced and experieced technicians and contribute to continuous improvement within the lab
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance Required Experience

To be considered for this role, candidates are required to have the following have:

Proven experience working specifically with construction materials testing (soils, aggregates, asphalt, bituminous or cementitious materials) or geotechnical background.
Strong understanding of relevant testing standards and methodologies
Hands‑on laboratory experience in a commercial or technical testing environment
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high‑quality data Whats on Offer
