Thatcher Associates are currently working with an established and regarded Building and Construction Business who are looking for an experienced Foreman/ skilled tradesperson with supervisory experience to join their team. Initially you can expect to assist with oversee the construction of Buildings from £1 - £30 million pounds primarily within the healthcare, data and residential sectors.

The Role

Projects are managed by a regional office, however, their schemes can be national they have numerous jobs starting in the London/ Slough area so if you are local to this area or happy to lodge in this region we encourage you to apply. All living expenses will be covered on top of salary, car allowance and package if you are a manager that will require lodgings.

Duties

* Manage any and all aspects pertaining to the construction foreman position.

* Place and maintain safety procedures in place, supervise workers, fill in for construction managers as needed, and effectively manage all phases of site operations.

* Manage relations with clients, evaluate project requirements, and oversee staff on job sites.

* Ensure compliance of project scopes, specifications, and budgets.

* Ensure all personnel are meeting safety requirements.

* Manage and oversee all construction projects.

* Coordinate and perform field activities including estimating, scheduling, and quality control.

* Maintain and update job-related documentation, including progress, safety, quality, and timecards.

* Maintain safety and environmental standards and guidelines and ensure compliance with state and federal laws.

* Cooperate with client representatives to achieve project goals.

* Assist in hiring, training, and supervising sub-contractors and laborers.

Skills

* You will have demonstrable experience leading, motivating a multi-skilled trade’s team together;

* Able to think outside the box and to react quickly to issues that need resolving;

* A good organisational skill set;

* Being able to deliver quality to timescales required;

* A good knowledge and understanding of construction

* Commercial awareness and an ability to establish and maintain good working relationships;

* Ability to work both on your own and as part of a team;

* A culture of continuous improvement to support.

Essential Requirements

* Ideally currently working for a contractor or house builder looking to work for an established regional building outfit that offers career development and a supportive working environment.

* Exposure to new build projects.

* Has previously worked on projects in UK

* Proven experience as a Construction Foreman or supervisory role within trades and labour

* In-depth knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and materials

* Ability to read and interpret construction plans, schematics, and blueprints

* Excellent problem-solving abilities

* Attention to detail and a focus on quality control

* Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
