Our client is a successful property developer based in North London. They are expanding and are looking for a Buyer to join the construction team.
Salary: £35,000 to £40,000, depending on experience
Travel:
* Palmers Green/Wood Green, N13
* Between Bounds Park and Wood Green on the Piccadilly Line
* Bowes Park - Great Northern Line
* Palmers Green - Great Northern Line and Thameslink
Most of the work undertaken by the company is residential developments, but not exclusively so. There are several large developments in the works and the company are continuing to grow. The team are longstanding and the company is well established, having been trading for over 30 years.
This role would suit someone with experience in a Construction Buying role, who is looking to work autonomously. You will be responsible for the buying function and will work alongside the QS team. You will be able to establish and manage excellent working relationships with suppliers and site staff to ensure that works are supplied and run on time.
The key responsibilities of the CONSTRUCTION BUYER role are:
* Creating procurement schedule in line with construction programmes
* Measurement
* Reading architectural and structural drawings
* Ordering materials and raise purchase order for sites on daily basis
* Negotiating rates, sales and tender enquiries
* Procure materials/sub-contract packages such as windows, kitchens, appliances, sanitary ware, internal finishes, carpentry and all other fixtures required
* Prepare competitive tender packages and ensure procure within the budget set-out
* Design/redesign and suggest varieties of packages to suit the types of developments
* Check and authorise supplier’s invoices as well as raise query to any discrepancies or unsuccessful delivery, etc.
* Record all site plants/equipment hired and manage on weekly basis
* Liaise with site agent and site manager
