Job Purpose / Overview

As a Configuration Engineer, you'll lead program activities to establish configuration baselines, manage configuration changes, and provide regular status reporting related to Configuration Management (CM) activities. Your role will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of our CM Plan, tailored to the program's specific scope.

Principal Accountabilities

You will:

Support the execution of the CM Plan, ensuring balanced application tailored to the program's scope.
Define and maintain CM arrangements, including standards, procedures, and tools, to establish and maintain adequate configuration control.
Engage with program stakeholders to establish configuration baselines, manage changes, maintain records, produce status reports, and plan audits.
Administer the change control procedure, ensuring registration, confirmation of meeting quality criteria, arranging governance meetings, recording decisions, and expediting changes.
Produce Configuration Status Reports to support management decision-making.
Provide CM training to program participants, ensuring understanding of responsibilities within CM procedures.
Collaborate within Engineering Integration and other functions to develop a complementary CM approach across works.
Participate in Engineering Data Management / Information Management activities, specifying CM requirements for data and information management systems.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience

Essential:

Awareness of Configuration Management Standards, including ISO 10007, EIA 649, and supporting guidance.
Ability to define CM-related procedures aligned with project needs.
Coordination of cross-cutting technical topics.
Ability to implement engineering procedures and exhibit professional qualities such as accuracy, tenacity, and teamwork orientation.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in large multi-disciplinary engineering projects.

Desirable:

Knowledge of other CM standards (e.g., Def Stan 05-57).
Understanding of engineering principles within large-scale infrastructure projects.
Demonstrable experience performing CM on large, complex programs (major infrastructure or similar).
CM certification (CM2) and/or equivalent industry experience.
Engineering degree or equivalent industry experience.
Prior experience working on the HPC project is beneficial.
