Configuration Controller

Description:

We're working with a major client at the heart of Britain's high-speed rail infrastructure programme, and we're recruiting a Configuration Controller to sit at the centre of their technical change process.
This is a role that keeps a complex programme honest. When changes are proposed to technical designs, standards or contract baselines, they do not happen quietly in the background. They go through a rigorous governance process, and you are the person who makes that process work. You'll register, check, coordinate and track Technical Change Requests and Technical Authority Communications from initiation through to board approval and implementation. You'll prepare submission packs, report on progress weekly, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks.

You'll be the focal point for technical change across multiple contracts running simultaneously. That means working daily with engineers, project teams and commercial managers, chasing progress, resolving blockers and keeping stakeholders informed. You'll also maintain the work instructions and training material that underpin the process, and provide hands-on support to the Configuration Managers when contract baselines and submissions are being updated.

The right candidate will have worked in a structured change control environment within a large and complex programme. You'll understand configuration management standards, know your way around document management and CM tooling, and be comfortable managing data at volume and pace. Equally important is your ability to engage across a wide range of teams with clarity and confidence.
This is not a back-office role. You'll be visible, busy and genuinely central to how technical change is governed on one of the most significant infrastructure programmes in the country.
