Do you have engine design experience, and are you seeking a new job in Peterborough? Jonathan Lee Recruitment is helping a collaborative company recruit a Concept Design Engineer, and the contract role comes with a umbrella contract rate up to £45.00 per hour, dependent upon experience.

As a Concept Design Engineer, you will be an experienced design engineer with comprehensive knowledge of combustion engine systems and an ability to collaborate effectively to understand and meet the objectives of concept design requests.

In your first few weeks in this Engine Concept Design Engineer role, you can expect to:

Create design concepts to incorporate innovative technologies into existing engines in support of New Technology Introduction (NTI) projects
Explore creative design solutions to improve engine performance and resolve existing issues
Select and adapt engine options to meet the needs of prospective customers
Develop early engine geometries using basic scantlings and early product objectives to aid the development of the project business case.
To apply for this Concept Design Engineer role, your soft skills, expertise and experience should include:

Strong technical background (HNC or technical degree preferred in mechanical or automotive engineering) though other qualifications or experience are equally value
Extensive design experience – backed up with simulation and calculation skills – of engine systems for compression and spark ignited engines using varied fuel sources.
Collaboration skills to agree design proposals which balance the needs for performance and durability with cost and manufacturing requirements.
Good understanding of component manufacturing principles & processes.
Self-motivation and an ability to manage and deliver tasks to meet established commitments
Ideally knowledge and use of Creo and Teamcenter.
You'll receive an excellent contract per-hour rate up to £45ph in return for your knowledge, expertise and flexibility.
