Component Application Leader

The Just Recruitment Group Ltd is currently recruiting for a Component Application Leader for a manufacturer based in Gillingham, Kent.

Would suit applications from qualified candidates that offer relevant experience in automotive, hydraulics or aeronautical industries.

Ability to communicate effectively with customers, as well as present information to senior management/leadership.
Ability to apply FMEA technology is also a requirement.

The component application leader leads assigned technical projects, executes the different technical activities that are required to support a customer (or set of customers). This involves working with a cross functional team including product and manufacturing engineering, project management and customer managers. Examples include preparing and presenting the design reviews, hosting regular team meetings, participating, and organizing customer meetings and follow up customer specific requests.

Role will include:
Prepare reports, presentations, and technical documentation for internal and customer use.
Present technical status in internal reviews and with customers and suppliers
Apply engineering standards, procedures, and methodologies to execute project activities.
Analyse technical gaps in requirements by reviewing:
o Specifications and BOMs.
o DFMEA generic vs Application specific
o Use of Simulations, 3D CAD models, 2D Engineering drawings with core team

Create development plan for product / system by:
o Defining BOM content and design activities based on core products for all phases of the project.
o Identifying application specific feature requirements
o Define validation plan to meet requirements.
o Track and co-ordinate engineering activities to project timing requirements (PDP)
o Prepare Product / System release documentation.
o Assess risk using established FMEA methods.
o Lead design preparation and design reviews as per PDP plans and project timing

Key requirements
Mandatory
* Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in a suitable engineering or business discipline.
* Proven experience of working with customers
* Excellent communications skills, with ability to present information at all levels of the business
* Significant product knowledge for FIE components or systems

Desirable
* Fluent in English, French or German, depending on the localisation
* Project Management experience
* Ability to apply FMEA methodology highly desirable
* Managing teams
* Ability to understand product / system functionality.
* Ability to communicate with all levels of the organisation and customer.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings, simulations and BOM.
* Ability to operate GES.
* Ability to apply change management process.
* Ability to run Product Development Process (PDP)
* System Integration & Calibration or Software System Function background
