Working Pattern: Full-time | 5 days in the office

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Compliance Officer to join an established UK-regulated bank based in the City of London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a compliance professional with a strong background in compliance monitoring, regulatory governance and policy management to join a growing team.

Working closely with the Head of Compliance, you will play a key role in supporting the bank's compliance framework, ensuring regulatory requirements are met and internal policies, procedures and controls remain effective and up to date.

Key Responsibilities

Support the delivery and ongoing development of the Compliance Monitoring Programme (CMP), including risk-based monitoring, assurance reviews and control testing.

Conduct compliance reviews to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and adherence to regulatory requirements.

Draft, review and maintain compliance policies, procedures and governance documentation.

Manage the policy inventory, ensuring documents are reviewed, approved and updated within required timelines.

Undertake regulatory horizon scanning, assessing the impact of changes to FCA, PRA and other relevant regulatory requirements.

Work closely with internal stakeholders to coordinate regulatory change implementation and policy updates.

Support the development and coordination of compliance training programmes.

Investigate potential compliance breaches, recommend remedial actions and track their completion.

Prepare compliance management information (MI), reports and regulatory updates for senior management.

Provide support across financial crime compliance matters, including AML, fraud, anti-bribery and corruption (ABC), CRS and FATCA.

Key Requirements

Minimum 5 years' experience in compliance or regulatory matters within a UK-regulated banking or financial services environment.

Previous experience in a Compliance Officer, Compliance Monitoring, Regulatory Compliance or Governance role.

Strong working knowledge of the FCA Handbook, PRA Rulebook, Money Laundering Regulations and JMLSG Guidance.

Practical experience conducting compliance monitoring reviews, control testing and assurance activities.

Experience drafting and maintaining compliance policies, procedures and governance documentation.

Understanding of regulatory change management and compliance training requirements.

Good knowledge of financial crime regulations, including AML, fraud, ABC, CRS and FATCA.

Strong analytical skills, with experience producing management information and compliance reports.

Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.

An ICA qualification or equivalent compliance qualification would be advantageous.
