Compliance & H&S Officer – 12 Month FTC

Salary: £32,000 – £35,000 per annum, dependent on experience and knowledge
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:30am – 5:15pm | Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract, Full Time – 39.5 hours per week

Talented People Solutions are recruiting for an experienced Compliance & H&S Officer to join a well-established business operating within the manufacturing and engineering sector on a 12-month fixed term contract.

This is a varied position combining Health & Safety, compliance and Quality Assurance, with responsibility for customer compliance questionnaires, QA information requests, onsite Health & Safety requirements and the coordination of internal compliance.

The position would suit someone with previous Health & Safety experience, alongside ISO experience and knowledge, who is confident taking ownership of H&S and compliance requirements across a business.

Key Areas of Responsibility

* Completion of customer compliance-based questionnaires; engaging with suppliers to obtain required information.

* Providing customers with requested QA information.

* To take ownership of all onsite Health & Safety requirements, alongside the QA Manager; including, but not limited to:

* completing risk assessments

* reviewing company policies

* communicating company Health & Safety campaigns across the businesses

* co-ordination of regular safety walks

* leading the establishment of ‘safety first’ culture

* To ensure internal compliance is completed; overseeing, monitoring and co-ordinating maintenance schedules, along with the creation & maintenance of a compliance database.

* Complete H&S and compliance related training in-house for employees and working alongside HR to ensure this is recorded on the company training matrix.

* Assist with the completion of internal audits, where required.

Skills, Knowledge & Behaviours

* Quality experience within an environment.

* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Health & Safety role.

* Relevant H&S qualification desirable (e.g. IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH, etc.).

* Experience within a manufacturing and engineering environment preferable.

* Strong attention to detail.

* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

* Team player with a strong team ethos.

* Well-developed research and analytical skills.

* Working knowledge of relevant software tools and computer literacy.

Requirements

* ISO experience & knowledge.

* Health & Safety experience.

* Experience of compliance questionnaires / requests.

Desirable

* Relevant H&S qualification (e.g. IOSH or NEBOSH).

* Experience within a manufacturing environment.

Hours & Breaks

Monday to Thursday: 8:30am – 5:15pm
Friday: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Weekly hours: 39.5 hours
Lunch: 30-minute daily lunch break

Monday to Thursday includes two paid breaks (morning and afternoon), with one paid morning break on Friday.
