A genuinely business-facing Compliance opportunity

This is a broad, commercially focused role supporting a UK Retail insurance business of around 800 colleagues. Working closely with business leaders, operational teams and senior stakeholders, you’ll provide practical regulatory advice that helps the business manage risk, deliver positive customer outcomes and make confident decisions.

This is not a traditional compliance monitoring or policy-heavy role.

The focus is on business partnering, influencing and providing practical guidance — helping stakeholders understand regulatory requirements and embed them into everyday decision-making, customer journeys and business change.

The Role

As a Compliance Business Partner, you’ll act as a trusted adviser to stakeholders across the UK Retail Insurance businesses.

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing practical and commercially balanced advice on FCA regulatory requirements and emerging risks.

Building strong relationships with business leaders and operational stakeholders.

Supporting governance, conduct risk and compliance oversight activity.

Advising on Consumer Duty, customer outcomes and regulatory risk.

Delivering thematic reviews, deep dives and assurance activity.

Reviewing customer journeys, documentation, policies and procedures.

Supporting acquisitions, integrations, strategic projects and wider business change.

Helping stakeholders assess regulatory risks and make informed decisions.

Delivering compliance training, reporting and stakeholder communications.

Identifying opportunities to strengthen governance, controls and customer outcomes.

Providing constructive challenge while maintaining a collaborative, solutions-focused approach.

You could come from a background such as:

Compliance Business Partner

Compliance Adviser

Compliance Consultant

Compliance Officer

Risk & Compliance

Insurance broking operations with strong FCA exposure

Retail insurance compliance

MGA or specialty insurance compliance

Financial services compliance

Experience within insurance broking or the wider UK insurance market is particularly relevant. London Market or specialty insurance experience would also be advantageous.

Essential experience

You’ll need:

* Strong knowledge of FCA regulatory requirements within insurance.

* Detailed working knowledge of ICOBS and SM&CR.

* Experience interpreting regulation and translating it into practical business advice.

* Experience assessing regulatory risk and supporting business decision-making.

* Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.

* The confidence to influence and challenge constructively.

* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex regulatory matters.

* Strong analytical, organisational and attention-to-detail skills.

* Experience reviewing qualitative and quantitative information and identifying potential risks.

Desirable

* CII, ICA or equivalent professional qualification.

* Knowledge of Lloyd’s and London Market processes and regulations.

* Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations or business change projects.

* Experience designing or reviewing customer journeys and regulatory documentation.
