Are you a compassionate and resilient Complex Needs Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity supporting children and young people with additional needs?
A welcoming and inclusive Specialist School in Reading is seeking a dedicated Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for a caring individual who is passionate about helping pupils with complex needs access learning and develop their confidence and independence.
As a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex needs.
Supporting pupils with communication, sensory, physical and learning needs.
Assisting pupils to access classroom activities and educational programmes.
Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
Providing personal care where required.
Creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Working closely with teachers, therapists and wider support staff.
Encouraging pupils to develop independence and confidence.This Complex Needs Teaching Assistant role would suit someone with experience in education, care, support work or a similar setting. Experience supporting pupils with PMLD, autism, physical disabilities or complex medical needs would be highly desirable.
