Job Title: Complaints Officer

Location: Mayo Building, Salford Royal Hospital, Stott Lane, M6 8HD

Shift Pattern: Monday- Friday 9am-5pm (37.5 hours a week)

Trust Location: Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust

About the Trust

The Northern Care Alliance is an NHS Foundation Trust (NCA FT) created by bringing together two NHS Trusts, Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust and The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. The NCA FT was formally established on 1 October 2021. The NCA has been working together as a group since 2016.

What you’ll be responsible for:

* Responsible for the development and case management of complaints, ensuring compliance with national and local procedures and guidelines.

* Able to work with minimal supervision and use considerable initiative to respond formally to complaints in a professional manner

* Ensure all complaints are investigated and responded to in line within NHS and Trust guidelines and in line with Trust, Key Performance Indicators.

You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS.

2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times.

3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation.

You’ll have the following skills/experience:

* Experience of complaints handling

* Experience of working with staff at all levels within an organisation.

* Experience of providing mediation and/or customer care services.

* Evaluating information, identifying key issues, problem solving, making sound judgments and decisions and implementing / recommending solutions

* Experience of influencing change and promoting learning.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* NHS System Knowledge- Datix, PAS/ Sunrise and EPR (desirable)

This role may require you to show evidence of education at degree level or at least 2 years relevant experience.
