Community Skills Officer

Location: London
Salary: Up to £38,000 DOE
Contract: 6-months initially, with potential to be extended
Hours: full-time, Monday to Friday

We are currently recruiting for a Community Skills Officer to join a community-focused organisation on a 6-month fixed-term contract.
This is a varied role focused on helping residents develop their skills, confidence and employment opportunities, while also supporting wider community initiatives.

You will work closely with residents, local organisations, training providers, employers and other partners to identify opportunities, develop programmes and deliver projects that make a positive difference within local communities.

Key Responsibilities

Identify learning, training and employability needs within local communities.
Design, deliver and evaluate skills-based programmes, including employability, digital skills, financial capability and vocational training.
Build and maintain strong relationships with training providers, colleges, employers and local agencies.
Support residents to identify skills gaps, set goals and progress into training, volunteering or employment.
Support community projects from initial planning through to completion.
Manage project resources, budgets and communications.
Engage with residents and encourage participation in community activities and decision-making.
Identify potential external funding opportunities.
Monitor and evaluate the impact of projects and programmes.
Build effective relationships with a wide range of external stakeholders.
Produce high-quality reports, presentations and written communications. About You

Experience of designing and delivering skills, employability or training programmes.
Strong project management experience.
Experience building relationships and partnerships with a variety of stakeholders.
Excellent communication and influencing skills.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
The ability to analyse information and use data to inform decisions.
Experience of managing budgets.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
A full driving licence and/or the ability to travel to meetings and customer locations.
Flexibility to attend occasional evening or weekend activities where required.
