Interim Communications Manager

Location: Hertfordshire
Contract: 3 months initially, with potential to become permanent
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 3 days in the office, 2 from home
Start Date: ASAP

Are you an experienced Communications professional who enjoys getting stuck in, taking ownership and making things happen?

I'm working with a housing organisation in Hertfordshire that's looking for an Interim Communications Manager to join their team on an initial 3-month contract, with the possibility of a permanent opportunity.

This is a great opportunity for someone who's confident working independently, enjoys a varied role and can balance the creative side of communications with managing people and delivering projects.

What you'll be doing:

Taking the lead on day-to-day communications, planning and delivering content across a range of channels.

Managing social media, website content, campaigns and wider communications activity.

Producing engaging copy, reports, presentations and basic creative designs.

Supporting resident engagement and ensuring communications are clear, accessible and effective.

Attending meetings, making decisions and representing the communications function.

Managing and supporting a member of the communications team.

Working closely with senior management on internal and external communications, PR and reputation management.

Using CRM systems and digital tools to manage communications and monitor engagement.

What I'm looking for:

Previous experience in a Communications Manager or Senior Communications role.

Strong copywriting skills and the ability to produce high-quality content independently.

Experience managing social media, communications campaigns and digital channels.

Confidence using Photoshop or similar design software.

Experience using CRM systems and producing reports.

Someone proactive, organised and comfortable managing their own workload.

Strong communication skills and the confidence to make decisions and work with senior stakeholders.

Experience within the public sector, housing or a similar environment would be beneficial, although commercial backgrounds will also be considered.

Interested?

If you're an experienced communications professional who's available at short notice and looking for a hands-on interim opportunity, I'd love to hear from you
