Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Temporary Commis Chef to join our client’s kitchen team for a short-term assignment. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, cooking, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness, ensuring high standards of hygiene and efficiency are maintained throughout their shifts.
Responsibilities:
* Assist in food preparation, including chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and preparing sauces.
* Help with cooking and plating dishes under the supervision of senior chefs.
* Ensure all food preparation areas are clean and hygienic at all times.
* Follow proper food handling procedures and sanitation guidelines.
* Assist in receiving and storing deliveries.
* Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operation during service.
* Maintain a positive and professional approach to all tasks.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Commis Chef or similar role.
* Knowledge of culinary techniques and principles.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to follow instructions and learn quickly.
* Food hygiene certification is desirable but not essential.
