Description:

Our client who is a specialist for intelligent drive technology and systems as well as tailor-made services is looking for a Commercial Vehicles (CV) Field Service Engineer to cover north of the M25 area. With its innovative and smart products, the company offers high efficiency and reliability to customers from highly diverse industries such as oil and gas, energy, mining and mechanical engineering, ship technology, rail, and commercial vehicles.

Our client supports customers in these diverse sectors for the UK and Ireland markets. As well as developing new build solutions with OEMs, they offer full aftermarket support to their customers by way of spare parts supply as well as repair and overhaul services at their local workshop or at the customer location via their highly skilled workshop and field service workforce.

This role will be home based and customer site based with a requirement to live in or around the Luton area north of the M25, this would allow good support to the Oxford area and also Norwich amongst other locations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Field Service support for the company's Commercial Vehicles Division, electric drive and bus transmission systems
Carry out diagnostics and repairs at customer sites, 3rd party sites
Carry out major unit exchanges
Support to OEMs as
Support with new product introductions
Support sales teams in CV department to increase awareness of product performance, share field service opportunities and drive growth
Provide technical support and advice to sales colleagues where appropriate
Develop and maintain good working relationships with customers and their representatives
Liaise with Health & Safety and Field Service Managers on any issues arising from the day-to-day tasks
Work with customers to minimise downtime of assets
Adhere to all H&S and Environmental guidelines
Always work safely and professionally, in accordance with the relevant documentation
Carry out work at the company's workshop facilities as required
Complete all paperwork once assignment is finished and submit as soon as practical
Complete engineering reports in a timely manner
Manage expenses responsibly
Monitor and control stock levels within individual's depot
Maintain company vehicle in accordance with company policy
Carry out stock takes in line with annual plan
Share product knowledge with colleagues where possible
Use reporting procedures to feedback quality related issues noted during the work assignment
Ensure all assigned training within PEP and iHasco are kept up to date
Undertake product specific training when requested
Always represent the company in a positive and professional manner SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Completed engineering apprenticeship as minimum, level 5 qualification or higher preferred
Mechatronics or multi-skilled engineer with electrical bias
Background in field services and engineering
Experience with electric vehicles
Working knowledge of zero emission vehicles, electric drive/fuel cell
Experience with high voltage vehicle systems
Working knowledge of variable speed electric drives and control systems
Excellent diagnostic capabilities
Good IT skills
Full UK driving licence New Employees must pass a Drugs and Alcohol related Medical upon starting with the Company.

BENEFITS PACKAGE:

Permanent Contract
Company Vehicle
41 hours per week. Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-5.30pm (Additional and unsocial hours may be required to meet customer requirements)
£50k - £60k (dependent on experience)
Annual Bonus (pro rata on year of joining)
